It has been 13 years since the Marie Keating Foundation began and we put our first mobile information units on the road. The Foundation has now evolved and developed to a level that was beyond the expectations of the Keating family in the immediate aftermath of the death of the mother, Marie. This is all due to the generous support of the general public and our corporate partners. We cannot thank you enough.

Thanks to you, in 2013:

• Marie Keating Foundation nurses visited 371 venues such as community groups, resources centres, resource centres and workplaces to deliver or health education and awareness initiative to a total of 14,186 people.
• The Marie Keating Foundation Comfort Fund helped 97 families facing financial difficulties due to a cancer diagnosis in the family. The Foundation gave out grants totalling €46,000 to lessen the burden and help bring some comfort to struggling families by helping with household bills, childcare fees and transport costs while they were on their cancer journey.
• The Marie Keating Foundation ran extensive and comprehensive Public Awareness Campaigns around four key areas:

– Breast cancer

– Men’s health

– Cervical cancer

– Skin cancer
