Face-to-face fundraising involves trained fundraisers speaking directly with members of the public and inviting them to support the Marie Keating Foundation through a regular monthly donation.
Many of the people who sign up through face-to-face fundraising go on to support our work for years. Their generosity helps us continue our mission of creating a world free from the fear of cancer.

Why do we fundraise this way?
Face-to-face fundraising is one of the most effective and cost-efficient ways for the Marie Keating Foundation to raise the vital funds needed to support people affected by cancer across Ireland.
Every regular donation helps us:
- Provide cancer information and support services
- Fund our team of dedicated oncology nurses
- Deliver life-saving cancer prevention and awareness programmes
- Reach communities nationwide with education and support
With approximately 45,000 people diagnosed with cancer in Ireland every year, ongoing support from our donors allows us to continue being there for those who need us most.
How do our fundraisers operate?
Our fundraisers work door to door and on private land, they only ask people to sign up to direct debit. They never ask for or collect cash from people.
We use professional fundraising agencies to recruit and manage our fundraisers and some of our own team from the Marie Keating Foundation give regular training sessions to them meaning all our fundraisers are passionate about our work and are able to answer any questions you may have.
The fundraisers and organisation strictly adhere to current industry standards and guidelines and is regulated by the Fundraising Regulator.
Finally, SEPA Direct Debits are easy, safe and secure, giving you control on how much you wish to give. You can change your donation amount or cancel it at any time by emailing supportercare@mariekeating.ie

When contacting us, please provide:
- The fundraiser’s name
- The location where you met them
- The date and approximate time

Your Personal Details Are Safe With Us
Any personal information that you give to one of our fundraisers will be kept completely confidential. All our fundraisers receive guidance and training on data protection and all the secure systems we use to store and process your data are GDPR compliant.
We’ll need your contact details to set up the Direct Debit donation and to send you confirmation once this is done. When you do sign up you’ll have the opportunity to choose how you’d like us to keep in touch and whether you would like to hear about our latest campaigns and how you can support our life-saving work; either by phone, email, letter, SMS, or not at all.
