Face to Face Fundraising

Regular donations have a significant impact on the men and women we support and allows us to plan our services to meet demand into the future.

What is face to face fundraising?

Face to face fundraising is the use of fundraisers to engage with members of the public and ask them to donate to a charity or cause on either a once off or monthly basis.  Many of these new supporters will continue to support us for years to come and will play a significant role in our ambition to create a world free from the fear of cancer.

Why we do face to face fundraising

Face to face fundraising is a cost-effective way for The Marie Keating Foundation to raise money to ensure we can be there for the men and women, in communities across Ireland that are facing their own cancer journey.

By giving regularly in this way you are helping our team of dedicated, caring, and compassionate nurses to support as many of the 45,000 people diagnosed with cancer every year, as we can.

Our fundraisers work door to door and on private land, they only ask people to sign up to direct debit. They never ask for or collect cash from people.

We use professional fundraising agencies to recruit and manage our fundraisers and some of our own team from the Marie Keating Foundation give regular training sessions to them meaning all our fundraisers are passionate about our work and are able to answer any questions you may have.

The fundraisers and organisation strictly adhere to current industry standards and guidelines and is regulated by the Fundraising Regulator.

Finally, SEPA Direct Debits are easy, safe and secure, giving you control on how much you wish to give. You can change your donation amount or cancel it at any time by emailing [email protected]

COVID protocols:

Of the utmost importance to us is the safety of our fundraisers and the public. As a result we have taken all necessary precautions to ensure we are fundraising safely, these include:

  • Our fundraisers tablets will be cleaned before and after every interaction
  • We will follow public health advice on social distancing and where possible will maintain a safe distance.
  • Provide full training for our fundraisers via video link to avoid the need for travel or bringing people together unnecessarily

The donations people make through our fundraisers comes at a particularly important time, as, due to the Covid-19 crisis, we faced a drop in income, and had to let go some of our nursing team. This came at a time of huge demand of our support services and we are now looking to increasing our nursing team again so we can meet this demand and clear waiting lists. Every euro we receive supports men and women living with, or adjusting to life after cancer, and we’re extremely grateful to those who donate.
