Did you know that the Marie Keating Foundation can claim up to 45 cents back for every euro you have already donated?

Under the charity tax back scheme, the Revenue will honour your kind donations by giving us a tax rebate. If you have donated €250 or more in a single tax year and have paid income tax and/or capital gains tax in the Republic of Ireland,  we can claim an additional 45% of your tax back.

That’s a minimum of €112.33 extra – at no cost to you!

It takes only a few minutes of your time to sign an online tax back form called a CHY3 form and your donation will have greater impact in helping to reach even more people with lifesaving cancer education, awareness, and specialist support services.

To allow us claim your tax back all you need is to have:

  • Donated €250 or more to The Marie Keating Foundation in one tax year (January–December). We can make a claim for each of the last five years providing you have donated €250 or more in each individual year.
  • Paid Income Tax (PAYE or Self-Assessed) or Capital Gains Tax for the relevant year(s)
  • Donated yourself directly, rather than sponsored a friend or taken part in a raffle or collection

It takes just three minutes and costs you nothing!

All you need to do to complete a simple online form called a CHY3 Enduring Tax Certificate is your PPS number and the email address we already have registered for you.

You don’t need to tell us your salary or what tax you pay. Revenue requires PPS numbers to calculate the value of the refund on eligible donations. We comply with data protection regulations at all times and your information is safe and secure. You will receive a copy for your records.

Your Enduring Tax Certificate (CHY3) will cover you for five years after which you can renew your tax form either by email or phone – so no form filling or hassle

Tax relief for charities is no longer related to the actual rate of tax the donor pays. It is a blended rate of 44.93% (45%) for all donors.

If you have made donations to a number of Charities and signed CHY3 forms for each, don’t worry.  Each charity can claim the tax relief and Revenue will do the calculation, allocating the refund depending on how much tax you paid during the year.
