“Cancer is a significant concern in Ireland, affecting 1 in 2 individuals at some point in their lives and is currently standing as the leading cause of death. Over the past two decades, cancer has become more prevalent, with more than 44,000 people diagnosed annually. Given these statistics, the Foundations mission,“to make cancer less frightening by enlightening, and its vision,“to create a world free from the fear of cancer,”are more crucial than ever. Early diagnosis is vital for improving cancer patient outcomes and survival rates. The Foundation aims to overcome significant barriers to early cancer diagnosis. As part of its inclusive strategy, the Foundation also collaborates closely with groups and communities in disadvantaged areas, which are disproportionately affected by cancer. Evidence suggests that providing appropriate information and guidance can educate, advise, and eliminate the fear and lack of knowledge that might deter individuals from seeking help.”
