It is with the heaviest of hearts that we share news of the passing of our beautiful friend Orla Hunt. Orla took part in the Marie Keating Foundation 2024 Camino De Santiago in September while still undergoing cancer treatment, helping to raise funds in support of others on a cancer journey. It was at this time that Orla forged a strong friendship with Marie Keating team members Helen and Lisa who led the Camino. That friendship led to Orla becoming an ambassador for the Marie Keating Foundation, sharing her story and supporting us at many events throughout the remainder of the year, even organising her own fundraisers along the way.

Every one of us who got to spend time with Orla are heartbroken to hear of her passing. Orla was a ray of light, a joyful, kind and compassionate woman. She had a fantastic sense of humour and fun and within 5 minutes of being in her company she would have you smiling.

Alongside that Orla was an incredibly accomplished and intelligent woman. A much-loved friend and colleague to many. This was evident by the support she received when organising a fundraiser in her former workplace.

Above all else Orla was a loving and dedicated mother, her cherished daughter Sadie was her pride, joy and priority at all times.

Our deepest condolences go out to Sadie, Clare her cousin who joined us on that Camino way and her immediate family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing, loving and being blessed by her light.

Go gently Orla to your resting place. We will miss you.
