Founder and Director of Fundraising with the Marie Keating Foundation Linda Keating will be stepping down from the day to day running of the charity but will be joining the Board of Directors.
The Foundation was set up by Linda and her family 25 years ago following the devastating loss of their mother Marie to breast cancer aged just 51. It was set up to ensure that men and women all over Ireland regardless of their income, status or background would have access to free, lifesaving cancer information, advice and support to improve early detection and ultimately, save lives.
“I cannot tell you how proud I, and all my family are of all that has been achieved by the Marie Keating Foundation over the past 25 years. Being a part of this charity has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, I’ve worked alongside a fantastic team of colleagues, nurses, volunteers, and Directors all working together with the same mission to help people and their families across Ireland at every step of their cancer journey.” said Linda Keating
“My family and myself will continue to support the Foundation and the many people and their families who are on a cancer journey. The Foundation is a huge part of our lives and a true testament to the love we have for our Mam Marie. I want to take this opportunity to express my immense gratitude to everyone who has supported the Foundation over the years, from people who have given individually, to our corporate donors and partners, to people who have taken part in community challenges and hosted events on our behalf. Thanks to you, we have been able to continue to grow our services to support people with cancer and their families across Ireland. Thank you.” she said.
Derek McKay, Chair of the Board of Directors expressed his profound thanks to Linda for her leadership over the years and wished her every success for the future.
