The Marie Keating Foundation is delighted to have been selected as Cara Pharmacy’s charity partner for 2020.
The Foundation have also been selected as one of three nominated charities to benefit from the Cara Bundoran Run – 10 Mile Challenge 2020, alongside the Asthma Society of Ireland and Bluestack Foundation.
Throughout the year, The Marie Keating Foundation and Cara Pharmacy will work together to roll out a number of initiatives and activities to bring attention to the importance of cancer prevention and early detection. Staff and customers will engage activities to raise vital funds to help the Foundation continue their cancer support services. The Cara Pharmacy team have already pledged to ‘Think Pink’ in aid of the Marie Keating Foundation this February. They have organised activities to take place in store on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th giving customers the opportunity to donate in store.

Speaking of the partnership Director of Cara Pharmacy Ramona Nicholas said “We are very excited about collaborating with the Marie Keating Foundation as our charity partner for 2020. It is the first time we have decided to choose a Charity of the Year, and we could not think of a better one. Given that fact that most of us know someone or have ourselves been directly touched by cancer, we really want to focus on the whole element of early detection and not ignoring symptoms. The Marie Keating Foundation not only focuses on breast cancer but so many other cancers and we want to raise as much awareness as we possibly can around the whole subject and also to remind ourselves that age is no barrier. It will be an exciting year ahead and with our Pharmacists, we are free for consultation at any time should you have any worries or concerns. Each of our stores have private consultation rooms, so just ask to speak to any of our Pharmacists in private. We will also be having lots of instore events so stay tuned to all our social media pages for more information.”
The Cara Bundoran Run is a highlight of the running calendar in Ireland. So why not join us and choses from the 5km, 10km or 10 mile route and walk or run at your own pace.
