Mobile Units Fleet

The Marie Keating Foundation have three purpose built mobile units which travel in the Eastern, Western and Southern regions of Ireland. There is a registered Nurse on board who provides cancer information and awareness to the general public free of charge. There is no cost to you or your business.

The Unit has a welcome area where people can step on, take a seat and wait to see the Nurse. This is not a screening service.

We have charts and prosthetic teaching aids on board in order to educate, show and highlight the importance of being aware of your body. The Unit is equipped with take home information leaflets on Bowel, Lung, Skin, Testicular, Prostate, Cervical, Ovarian and Breast cancer. Our Nurse will talk to you one to one in our private area about any concerns you have about cancer for yourself, a relative, work colleague or neighbour.

Where and when do the Units operate?
The Units operate 3 days a week basis.

The Southern Unit operates: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11.00-3.00pm Covering Cork, Limerick, Kerry , Waterford and South Tipperary.

The Western Unit operates Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10.30am-4.00pm Covering Clare, Galway , Mayo Leitrim , Longford, Roscommon, Westmeath , Mullingar, Donegal and North Tippeary.

The Eastern Unit operates Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 10.30am-4.00pm Covering Dublin, Carlow, Cavan, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Louth, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow.

How big is the Unit?
The Mobile Unit is 23.8 foot long, 7.5 foot high and 6.8 foot wide and requires four car spaces. In order for us to visit you we would need to park our Unit in a safe suitable location where people can step on and off the Unit. An example of this would be a business or commercial car park, public space within a town or with permission on private land.

Organising a visit?
We manage our schedules 6 weeks in advance so please give the office plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

The Marie Keating Foundation office would publicise the event by sending emails, using schedules for people visiting the Unit, posting out Posters for people to display and sending out Press Releases to local and national papers.

If you would like the Unit to visit you then please contact the office so that we organise a suitable time, date and location.
